Balneology
Balneology is a medical branch, studying the prophylactic and curative action of thermal, mineral waters and mud.
In a more comprehensive definition, balneology is the science dealing with the discovery, complex study and application into the medical practice of natural therapeutic factors. Natural therapeutic factors are the overall therapeutically physical/chemical elements, natural sanogens. The following are considered natural therapeutic factors: mineral therapeutic waters, therapeutic lakes and mud, therapeutic gas, the overall physical/chemical elements of climate, including the micro-climate in salt mines and caves.
As in our country these natural factors are very common, Romania is one of the most visited locations for the treatment of numerous diseases, which can be removed by turning to these natural remedies. Many foreigners choose our country for treating various medical problems which affect them.
